I have been interested and involved in graphic design since the late 1990s. As a high school student in Connecticut, I supplemented course work in design and photography with freelance assignments for local non-profits, including my town’s library and Rotary club.
I continued my education in the University of Denver’s Electronic Media Arts Design program where I developed a foundation in traditional art and design communication. As a Marketing minor, I also developed an understanding and appreciation of the role and value of consumer research in advertising’s creative process.
During college I was a designer and web developer for Denver radio station KVDU, and during summers I worked as a print and web designer at Design Monsters, a boutique Connecticut design firm with diverse entertainment industry clients including John Mellencamp and “Doonesbury” creator Gary Trudeau.
For five years I have been the designer and web developer of New Hampshire-based Ossipee Lake Alliance where my work has helped the non-profit group transition from ad hoc status to a professional environmental and conservation organization with statewide influence.
After graduating from the University of Denver in June 2007 I returned to the East Coast where I continued working with Design Monsters and conducted freelance work for clients such as Mashable, Cablight, The Aku Project, and Infusion Furniture.
In July of 2008 I returned to the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, where I am continuing to pursue a career in graphic design and front-end web development.
My exploration of the many different aspects of graphic design and web development has given me a diverse set of skills.
